N. Nick Perry
N. Nick Perry (Democratic Party) was a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 58. He assumed office on January 1, 1993. He left office on March 30, 2022.
Perry (Democratic Party, Working Families Party) ran for re-election to the New York State Assembly to represent District 58. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Perry resigned from the New York State Assembly on March 30, 2022 to become the U.S. ambassador to Jamaica.[1]
He has served as Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore, Deputy Majority Leader, and Assistant Majority Leader.
His other political experience includes being a volunteer for various campaigns, a candidate for district leader in 1984 and 1986, and a candidate for New York State Assembly in 1988. He has served on New York City Community Board 17, the Brooklyn Borough Board, and the Majority Conference for the New York State Assembly.
Biography
Perry earned his B.A. in political science from Brooklyn College and his M.P.A. from Brooklyn College.[2] His professional experience includes being an administrator for New York State Department of Mental Health, serving as a medical specialist for the United States Army and working as a union bargaining agent for Bustamante Industrial Trade Union. Perry served in the United States Army Reserve from 1974-1978.
